Profitroom wins big at inaugural FEDHASA Hospitality Awards

In what is proving to be a very successful start to the year, Profitroom has been honoured with the award for Best Hospitality Technology Provider at the inaugural FEDHASA Hospitality Awards, held at the Century City Conference Centre in Cape Town. This award, determined by votes from those who use the product, underscores Profitroom’s commitment to delivering superior technology solutions tailored for the hospitality industry.

The Hospitality Awards evening was hosted by the Federated Hospitality Association of South Africa (FEDHASA), an organisation that champions the interests of the South African tourism industry. This year's gala brought together over 350 industry professionals to celebrate outstanding contributions across various categories, including leadership, operations, sustainability, customer service, and culinary excellence.

Samantha Williams, Commercial Director at Profitroom says“This award means so much more than another gold star on the wall. Five years ago, most of the attendants didn’t know if they were going to make it through the year and many didn’t. But look at us now. The industry is coming back to life and these awards celebrate that.”

Tourism is a vital component of South Africa's economy, contributing over 3% to the GDP and employing about one in every 22 working individuals. Furthermore, last year7.6 million international visitors visited our shores between January and November, a51.8% increase when compared to the same period in 2022.  By fostering cultural exchanges and driving infrastructural development, the tourism and hospitality sectors enhance local communities and elevate South Africa’s stature on the global stage. Recognising excellence within this field is crucial, not only for inspiring others and promoting best practices but also for strengthening national identity and pride through international recognition.

Williams concludes, “We are honoured to receive this award and want to extend our heartfelt congratulations to all this year’s finalists and winners. We look forward to seeing even more attendees next year.”
